I learned about patriots day today and it is about the start of the start of the Revolutionary war. They call it The Shot Heard Around The World. The reason why they call it The Shot Heard Around The World is because it changed everything. The Revolutionary War was the war that we won so we could have independence from great britain.

I learned when we skyped with Ohio that they have more classes for school than us. We skyped with MRS. Tisch’s class. Some of the kids do karate like I do. They have a 9 month calendar and we have a 12 month calendar. We have a 4 hour day and they have a 7 hour day.

How we celebrate Easter.

We celebrate Easter by coloring eggs the night before.  It is very hard to contain excitement for the next day. When we wake up the next day we usually see a chocolate bunny on our beds. When we go down stairs we see all of the eggs are missing because the Easter bunny hid them. This year the Easter bunny hid the eggs outside. We had hints to where the eggs are and on the eggs were letters we had to use to unscramble words to a clue that led us to another clue to another clue that led us to a present that we had to share. And then we went to our grandmas house to find more eggs and we got Easter baskets. Then we stayed there for lunch and dinner we had ham for dinner.

I learned that Conneaut,Ohio is near lake Erie. Conneaut,Ohio gets a lot of lake affect snow because They are near lake Erie. Here in Massachusetts 10 inches of snow is 1 inch of water and in Conneaut,Ohio 20 inches of snow is 1 inch of water. The warmer the temperature of the water the heavier the snowfall. Conneaut,Ohio has a lot of tourism. In Conneaut,Ohio they have a D-Day reenactment.

THE WEATHER IN MASSACHUSETTS

Here in Massachusetts we get a lot of snow in the winter time.    At the end of the street there is a big snow mound from all the snow and the plow trucks.  Sometimes all the snow covers our car.  With all the snow we can sled all we want. We have a picnic table that in the summer we eat on and now it is covered in snow and ice.  photo1

Sometimes we get so much snow that there are people that have roof  collapsings!  there is a factory that had their roof cave in.

what do you think happens to the fish?

When you see lightning in a thunder storm you see the lightning first and then here the thunder. That is because it broke the sound barrier. Jets and space shuttles can do this too. Sunday Febraury 6th 2011 we made a homemade telephone. With two cups, one long peice of string. And we took the cup up to our grandmothers house and we talked back and forth. And it worked.
